I have some personal news for you. I usually write about more technical things like how to get more hamstring development in your training program or what the best rest intervals are for fat loss training.
Yeah, today is nothing like that. It’s kind of weird because I don’t really know how to approach this blog so I’m literally going to write whatever comes to mind, in one take, and post whatever happens. Probably going to drop a few cuss words and definitely not going to proofread…
Oh, speaking of tattoos. Here’s a kind of funny story…
You may have noticed that my entire right arm is completely covered in tattoos. I always laugh (and people with tattoos will understand this) when people ask me, “What do all of your tattoos mean?”
I’m like: Sure, complete stranger, let me take 30 minutes out of my life and give you a detailed explanation of the meaning and purpose behind each and every speckle of ink that got eternally injected into my skin.
Today you don’t have to ask. I have two tattoos that I’d like to tell you about and how they helped me make one of the biggest decisions of my career thus far.
“Never been a better time than right now.”
Yes, that’s a Red Hot Chili Peppers quote and yes that is tatted on my forearm.
It’s pretty straight forward. Look into the quote and determine what it means to you. For me, it means there is no room in this life for self-doubt and hesitation. NOW is the time. If you want something, you have to go get it. The quote, “Good things come to those who wait,” is bullshit. Good things come to those who drop whatever they’re doing immediately and GO. GET. IT.
There’s more to the story of the tattoo, but that’s all you need for now.
“He who fears being conquered is certain of defeat.”
Napoleon Bonaparte said that. I know nothing about him as a person. At least I know Anthony Kiedis, lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is an absolute GOD.
I don’t really read a whole lot about the French Revolution but I know this Napoleon dude was kind of a badass. He led France through decades of victorious battles and is referenced as one of the great commanders in world history.
His quote, though, is an amazing outlook on life. Both of these quotes are instilled in me permanently. Literally. I live by those concepts daily…
Which brings me to my point of this rambling blog post.
As of last week, I decided that I am going leave 1 & Only Fitness at the end of February and continue my career as a trainer, coach and business owner executing my personal vision and goals.
This decision was not easy. It was very uncomfortable. It was very scary. I was very unsure of whether or not it was the right time. There are so many reasons that ended up leading me to making the decision…
As you guys now know, these are the most important two:
- Never been a better time than right now.
- He who fears being conquered is certain of defeat.
So, let’s do this! As of March 1, I will be training independently in a private facility and my books are OPEN, baby! I also have some huge projects in the works that this will segue into but I can’t spill the beans on that just yet. Just know… it’s going to be a GAME CHANGER for the greater Indianapolis area.
Back to training though. If you’re interested in, ummmm, I don’t know… maybe becoming the most badass version of yourself possible – let’s work together. Fill this out to get started so I can know how to better assist you.
I’ll still be on the Northside – primarily working in the Fishers area but I have A LOT of flexibility now on where and when I can train so don’t hesitate to reach out. I’ll be offering online training as well for those of you not in Indiana. Fill out the same form listed above.
This decision has been formulating for quite some time and it was a great sense of relief to finally make the decision. I’m now 110% locked in on my vision and that is a great feeling. I have nothing but love for 1 & Only Fitness. They gave me a great opportunity and I will always be grateful for my time spent there. I made so many connections, learned so many lessons and was a part of something awesome.
Oops, back to training again… I am accepting clients right now so if you’re interested in changing your life RIGHT NOW, let’s do it. Let’s smash your goals. Let’s make and exceed goals people look at you crazy for believing in. And you better believe we’re going to do that listening to some loud ass rap, chugging strong coffee and having some FUN!
