The Real Cause of Muscle Cramps
Stop Blaming Cramps on Dehydration
The cause of exercise-associated muscle cramps (EAMC) is a hot research topic. EAMC can occur in all populations, but it’s common with endurance athletes who have to perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time.
You’ve probably heard that muscle cramps are caused by dehydration. Well, recent studies don’t support this notion.

How to Optimize Rest Between Weight Lifting Sets
“Filler” Exercises: Why You Need Them
The best solution to maximize weight room and recovery time is to program “filler exercises” between sets. These filler exercises are usually low intensity and target a problem area with focused mobility and/or stability movements. These exercises are a great compliment to the larger, more taxing WLMs. They don’t have to be revolutionary movements that you can throw your name on and go on a speaking tour about. On a personal note, I just wanted to let you guys know that I appreciate the well-wishes and support for my surgery and recovery! For those who don’t know, I had back surgery on September 1 to clean up an old injury that I’ve battled with non-surgical methods for nearly a decade. Surgery went smooth. I’m recovering well. I can’t wait to get back to 100% and continue to learn lessons from this injury & use them to help others become happier, healthier and better performers! If you want to read up on my journey, I wrote a little rant about it here.
